How the calculation works

Both Twitch and YouTube support timestamped URLs. Twitch VODs use the format ?t=1h23m45s appended to the video URL. YouTube uses &t=5025s (total seconds from the start).

Paste the full video URL from your browser — the tool extracts the video ID automatically and builds the correct timestamped link for you to copy and share in Discord, Twitter, or anywhere else.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my Twitch VOD URL?

Go to your Twitch channel → click Videos → find the VOD → right-click the video and copy the link, or open it and copy from the browser address bar. It will look like twitch.tv/videos/1234567890.

Do Twitch VOD links expire?

Yes. Twitch VODs are deleted after 14 days for Affiliates and most Partners, or 60 days for Partners with video storage enabled. Highlights you create from VODs are stored indefinitely.

Do YouTube timestamp links work in Shorts?

No — YouTube Shorts don't support the &t= timestamp parameter. Timestamps only work in regular long-form YouTube videos.

Can I timestamp a YouTube live stream?

Yes, once a live stream ends and becomes a VOD (replay). During a live stream the timestamp is relative to the DVR buffer, which may not be sharable.

How long are Twitch VODs stored?

Twitch stores VODs for 14 days for Affiliates and non-partnered accounts, and 60 days for Partners with video storage enabled. Highlights you clip from VODs are stored indefinitely. If you want to keep a VOD permanently, export it to YouTube before it expires.

Can I add chapter markers to a YouTube video using timestamps?

Yes. Add timestamps to your video description in the format 0:00 Intro, 2:30 Main topic, 5:45 Closing — starting from 0:00. YouTube automatically creates clickable chapters in the progress bar. This significantly improves watch time and SEO.

Do YouTube timestamp links work in all formats?

Yes — YouTube supports both the seconds format (?t=5025) and the human-readable format (?t=1h23m45s). Both redirect to the same moment. This tool generates the standard URL format that works reliably across all devices.

Can I link to a specific moment in a Twitch clip?

No — Twitch clips are short fixed segments with no timestamp support. Only full VODs (twitch.tv/videos/...) support the ?t= parameter for deep linking. If you need to reference a moment in a clip, download the clip and re-upload with the moment at the start.
